Black On Black Aronai
The Black on Black Aronai is a modern take on the traditional Bodo handwoven scarf, blending heritage with a refined contemporary aesthetic. Designed in an elegant monochrome palette with subtle woven motifs, this unisex stole offers a classy, modest, and versatile look.
Derived from the Bodo word “Earnai” meaning “to weave,” the Aronai is a G.I tagged traditional handwoven scarf deeply rooted in the cultural identity of the Bodo community of Assam. Historically, it was woven as a blessed talisman for protection during times of war and later evolved into a symbol of love, respect, honor, and belonging.
This piece incorporates traditional motifs inspired by nature and Bodo heritage, including Hajw Agor (hilly landscape), Pharou Megon (pigeon eye), Daothu Godo (dove’s neck), and Mwider Agan (elephant footsteps).
